I have to start out saying that Road to the Runway will be one awesome series when it is all done!
Right now, it is still in the development stage and well kinda on hold since I'm pregnant with my 4th child (which is due mid September 2016). But come January 2017...I'm pretty sure we will start working on it again and hopefully start filming.
So, far we have gathered over 100 pieces of wardrobe with matching jewelry for filming and photo shoots. We actually did a fashion show video wearing some of them before I was showing my baby bump. I really should edit that and put it up...so in another post I will do that....because it was kinda fun!
We have also done multiple photo shoots and have more planned. One of the shoots was for a Free Guide called Road to the Runway (the 5 Stages). Another was for a fabric glossary with over 35 different fabrics that we will be using in the course. And another was with 10 different dresses with matching accessories to show fashion styling. These were all with 15-year-old Mariah who is just too cute!
This reminds me....there is actually 3 different levels in the Road to the Runway series that I should mention. It starts off with a more beginning Restyling Course, then goes into an intermediate Fashion Design Course and then goes into the more advanced Fashion Collections.
The first we already filmed and will be open for enrollment as soon as the videos edited. It's our 30 Day Fashion Restyling Course where we restyled and created 5 full outfits each with 6 pieces in each. There are dresses, purses, shoes, jewelry, headpieces, belts and accessories in that series. Of course we did a photo shoot for that and I plan to turn it into a Look Book so all the projects can be seen. Plus the plan is to have weekly tutorials here on the blog of those projects too!
The other courses are in our Road to the Runway - Fashion Collections. In these 6 courses teen girls will learn how to make over 30 garments from tops and pants to skirts and dresses. I'll be starting with the patterns and then showing step-by-step how to cut and sew each garment. The fabrics are really fabulous with lots of black, gold, and silver in sparkling and metallic materials. I did film a behind the scenes video, so that will be going up in another post too!
I know I could say so much more about the Road to the Runway series, but I'd like to save it for other posts that include the videos, look books, and tutorials. So for now that's it!
